What language Azerbaijani people speak

As Azerbaijan was a former Soviet Union country, most of the citizens, especially elderly people speak the Russian language. But still, most of the young generation also speak Russian. Because in Azerbaijan while going to school our pupils have 2 selections. To study in Azerbaijani or in Russian. Besides that, the Azerbaijani language is included in the Turkish language group. So our language is very similar to the Turkish language. You can also speak English in Azerbaijan, but mostly with the young generation. Our people is very hospitable and they always try to help someone who asks for it. So, do not hesitate to ask any question with body language or with the three above mentioned languages.
